Dr Banerji, a member of CADRE’s Educational Outreach subcommittee, is an associate professor of medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center (SUNY-HSC) in Brooklyn, New York. She has been at SUNY-HSC since 1976 and currently serves as director of the Endocrinology Clinic.

In addition, she is also the director of the Diabetes Clinic for Kings County Hospital. She has been a reviewer for the journals Diabetes Care, Obesity Research, and Diabetes.

Dr Banerji has been a featured speaker for the South African Endocrine Society and is the author of numerous articles. Her interests include insulin action and body composition, “Flatbush” diabetes, and ethnicity in diabetes.
