Dr Gerich is a professor of medicine and director of the General Clinical Research Center at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society, the International Diabetes Federation, and the Association of American Physicians and is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Diabetes and Its Complications, Endocrine Reviews, Diabetes, Nutrition and Metabolism, Journal of Physiology, and the American Journal of Medicine.

Dr Gerich has published most recently in Ellenberg and Rifkin’s Diabetes Mellitus (6th ed), Experimental and Clinical Endocrinology & Diabetes, Clinics in Laboratory Medicine, and Diabetes Care and has lectured around the world, recently on the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes.
