Paul S. Jellinger, MD, MACE

Dr Jellinger is a professor of medicine on the voluntary faculty at the University of Miami School of Medicine and he currently serves as president of the American College of Endocrinology. Dr. Jellinger also serves on CADRE’s Educational Outreach subcommittee. He was a National Institutes of Health fellow in endocrinology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and has served as senior attending and attending staff physician at hospitals in Hollywood, Florida, since 1974. From May 2000 to May 2001, he served as president of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), where he has been on the board of directors since 1992.

Dr Jellinger was chairman of the AACE task force that published Medical Guidelines for the Treatment of Dyslipidemia in the Prevention of Atherogenesis and served on the AACE task forces that developed Guidelines for the Management of Diabetes Mellitus and Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Evaluation and Treatment of Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism.

He was president of the Florida Endocrine Society from 1986 to 1988, was a founder of the South Florida Endocrine Association in 1988, and became a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology in 1994 and a Master of the American College of Endocrinology in 2004.

Dr Jellinger has been a principal investigator or co-investigator in more than 50 research projects and has given many local, regional, and national presentations on a variety of topics in endocrine disease management primarily relating to diabetes and lipid disorders.
