CADRE's Cases in Success

Cases in Success

CADRE’s Cases in Success program offers web-based, interactive case studies to provide you with self-directed learning about various therapeutic strategies for treating type 2 diabetes. They have been designed to address two challenges to successful continuing medical education:

·          the amount of time busy health care providers have available to complete programs; and

·          adult learning research that recommends education be offered over a period of time so it is true education instead of memorization.

Each therapeutic area is comprised of 3 case studies, with each case taking 15-20 minutes. Thus, each area will take about 1 hour in total and qualify for 1.0 Prescribed credits from the AAFP or 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 creditsTM from Tulane University Health Sciences Center.  For each therapeutic area, you will:

1.       Complete a brief pre-assessment and the first case study.

2.       Two weeks later, CADRE will prompt you to complete the second case in that area at a time convenient for you.

3.       Two weeks following completion of the second case, CADRE will prompt you to complete the third case in that area, as well as a brief post-assessment and the series evaluation—again when convenient for you. Credit for the therapeutic area will be earned once the post-assessment is complete.

4.       Three months later, you will be asked to complete a follow-up assessment. Although this assessment is voluntary, its completion will help CADRE gauge the success of this novel program and plan future education activities.

There are currently 3 areas of study:

Series 1: Strategies for Reaching Multiple Metabolic Targets

                Series 2: Incretin Therapies

                Series 3 Insulin Therapy

Complete CME information is provided at the beginning of each series of cases.

We hope you find Cases in Success to be of benefit in your practice.
